From Prevention Science to Services: Identifying Paths to Sustainable Evidence-Based Preventive Interventions

What is it about?

In the areas of substance use and mental disorders, we know there are long term benefits to prevention and early intervention. And yet, there are challenges in identifying funding sources for preventive services once an intervention has demonstrated efficacy in a research study. We identify potential funders of substance use/behavioral health preventive interventions and suggest ways of aligning research studies with the evidentiary requirements of these payors.
