Making It to Sustainability: Evaluating Billing Strategies for Collaborative Care

What is it about?

In this study, we evaluated the feasibility of implementing the Collaborative Care billing codes by examining the impact of this implementation on healthcare delivery and on financial revenue, using both quantitative and qualitative data. Our results demonstrate that the implementation of the new CoCM billing codes did not adversely impact the delivery of patient care or financial revenue. Moreover, we found that these codes could be implemented in a large healthcare system with relatively minimal burden to providers and could add potential value for patients and/or a clinical practice.
