What is it about?
High-deductible health plans (HDHPs) are increasingly common in the United States. This study evaluated the effects of HDHPs on health plan enrollees with mental health conditions. We found mental health care spending is reduced after exposure to HDHPs, which may be contributing to under treatment of mental health conditions.
