What is it about?

Many communities are experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic which is affecting mental health and the mental health system. Previous research can help us anticipate what such economic conditions might mean for mental health. Based on previous research on recessions and financial crises we suggest potential policy solutions to mintage the impact on mental health including suicide and substance use prevention, insurance coverage, telehealth parity, practice support, and social service connections.
