What is it about?

Sensori-/psychomotor symptoms—such as slowed movements, agitation, or unusual posture—are common in many mental health conditions but often go unnoticed or are hard to measure. In this article, we explore how new tools like motion tracking, brain imaging, and artificial intelligence can help us better detect and understand these symptoms. Building on a recent study linking grip strength to brain function and well-being in psychosis, we outline five key directions for future research aimed at improving diagnosis and treatment.
