What is it about?

I analyze and assess the wind data from models, specifically reanalyses, and how they are represented in the Upper Midwest. The focus here is on 10-meter winds, which are readily measured by many weather stations throughout the region.

Why is it important?

While just the first step in several toward my dissertation research, this step is nonetheless important both for establishing the credibility of reanalyses in the rest of my research as well in helping the academic and industrial communities better understand how well these models work as tools in the analysis and application of wind for wind energy purposes.
