Why is it important?

The outstanding electrical, physical, chemical and mechanical properties of carbon nanotubes make potential in nanodevices, composite materials, biomedical field etc. In order to utilize these applications the nanotubes need to available in large quantity and cost effective way. The carbon nanotubes were synthesized by arc discharge, laser ablation and chemical vapor deposition methods.

Perspectives

The synthesis methods of carbon nanotubes are summarized in this article.
