Bacterial pneumonia causes serious illness in susceptible populations. We show a mechanism by which Vitamin E may be able to prevent the effects of pneumonia in susceptible patients.

Bacterial pneumonia in immunocompromised patients can be deadly and is becoming ever more drug-resistant. Vitamin E may be used to help prevent or reduce lung injury
Perspectives
I hope this manuscript opens new areas of research into other medications that may be useful alongside antibiotics to help critically ill patients.
