Fatty Acid Oxidation Protects Against Hyperoxia-Induced Endothelial Cell Apoptosis and Lung Injury in Neonatal Mice

What is it about?

Endothelial cells have metabolic flexibility to maintain cell function. We show for the first time that hyperoxic exposure has long-term effects on lung endothelial cell apoptosis via lipid metabolism, and that enhancing fatty acid oxidation protects against hyperoxia-induced lung injury in neonatal mice.
