What is it about?

Human rhinovirus (RV) infections are major triggers of asthma and COPD exacerbations. There is an unmet need for medicines which can prevent such exacerbations. We have identified lanosterol synthase inhibition as a previously unknown mechanism for inhibiting RV replication, suggesting that LSS could be a novel therapeutic target for RN-induced exacerbations.
