What is it about?

In the last 3 decades performance analysis in soccer tried to find clear information to understand how each component could influence the others in each match situation but really few works investigated this item qualitatively. This paper tried to verify how the high intensity before each technical event might influence the success/not success of the shots on goal, dribbling, crosses, forward passes, interceptions and tackles.

Why is it important?

We looked at a time window of 5 s before each technical event considered and we counted how many times each player overcame the fixed thresholds. The findings of this work seem to be crucial because of the apparent no influence of the high intensity to get success on the upcoming technical event, except for the shots on goal and crosses that seem to be influenced by high intensity for the Metabolic Power threshold. It suggests how all the training means should take into account these findings.
