What is it about?
RSV acute respiratory illness is strongly associated with childhood asthma. This study provides evidence that acute RSV respiratory infection in infant results in two distinct immune-response phenotypes. The response profile characterized by Type-2 and Type-17 high and low non-interferon anti-viral immune-response was significantly associated with later recurrent wheezing.
