By using real data from these sources, the study captures how people actually speak and write now, not just how language is described in dictionaries. Perspectives
Working on this topic was particularly meaningful to me because it connects formal linguistic theory with the kind of language people actually use every day. I was especially interested in how a word like “vãi,” which many might consider informal or even inappropriate, can reveal deep insights about human emotion, culture, and communication. What I found most exciting was seeing how quickly language evolves in real-life contexts, especially on social media. Observing how younger speakers creatively reshape meanings reminded me that language is not fixed, it is alive and constantly adapting.
