What is it about?
In this chapter the focus is on who the person is through an examination of the creation narratives. It shows that according to them the human being is the image of God growing to the likeness of God. God’s likeness is interpreted both in the sense of the visibility in human life of God’s goodness and love and in the sense of communion with God and in God. It also looks at how both sin and the help of God enter into this process of maturing.

Why is it important?
It interprets creation narratives with a special focus on the roots of goodness, and on the possibilities of a free human development of the given good through crises, where humanity is at stake.
Perspectives
I have enjoyed the work with the ancient as well as contemporary theological texts.
