What is it about?
For nearly 50 years, neutron activation analysis has aided art historians and geologists conducting provenance research on orphaned limestone sculptures, many in American museum collections but originally coming from Gothic buildings in France. This chapter traces this history of the Limestone Sculpture Provenance Project and its connection to peaceful applications of nuclear technology.
