What is it about?

God's atemporal plan to unite humanity to Himself has been revealed since the foundation of the world. Creation and the Incarnation form a continuous unfolding of this divine purpose. Given its double recapitulation in Adam and Christ, the human race, fallen through the first Adam, was justified in the second Adam.

Why is it important?

God's plan is atemporal. The Adam–Christ typology offers the framework for understanding this plan as existing before the foundation of the world.

Perspectives

Recognising that the human story has always been linked to the triune God is central to understanding humanity’s relationship with the divine.
