What is it about?

The present study focuses on cyberfeminism and social networks. It aims to examine the reflections of the gender equality movement on social media users and the digital world. It has been limited to Twitter as it is both up-to-date and sustainable. The method of the study is content analysis and secondary data analysis which re-examines quantitative data sets. Its sample is the hashtag #MeToo. The findings of the study encompass changing demographics of online audiences and the relationship between cyberfeminism and social networks. The study argues that the #MeToo movement has had a significant impact on cyberfeminism as it has helped to raise awareness of serious problems regardless of sex and has given voice to victims. It also notes that it is important to be aware of the negative consequences of the movement and to take steps to address them.
