What is it about?
This study aims to analyze and explain the concept of hope in al-Faraj baʿd al-shidda by considering two aspects of the work: The first focuses on the connection between understanding the tale of deliverance and faith and its doctrinal dimension. It also reveals the means and strategies that contributed to creating the concept of the salvation of the individual in crisis through allocating a range of narrative models based on the themes and classifications created by al-Tanūkhī. The second, related to narration, focuses on the structural analysis of tales (akhbār), and the anecdotal phenomena of the theme of hope. It also seeks to address the narrative structure of the tale, its styles and artistic evolution, in addition to its thematic connection with the idea of deliverance, through identifying narrative models that have multiple dimensions such as Sufism, humor, narrative preaching, and narratives of marvelous phenomena, and historical events.
