What is it about?

Has the Trumpian “new era” transformed the rules of the game, as well as the norms on which they were based? The following reflections provide a response by examining the pre-history of Trump’s ascendancy. Yet, while much of the triumphalism of the Obama era has faded, there is no indication that the “Trump era” will take root, either.
