What is it about?

This study examines the Asianization of an integrated approach to development in the Asian context and shows how the scaling-up methods can promote development cooperation, with a focus on the cases of Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Using Korea International Cooperation Agency’s Peace Village Development Projects as a case study, the study looks at how projects can be scaled up in a more integrated way through horizontal, vertical, and functional scaling-up. The study finds that needs and capacity assessments, along with active stakeholder involvement, are key to success. KOICA's approach is a dynamic catalyst for social incorporation and optimizing sectoral results, leading to ‘an organically societized Asia.’
