What is it about?

More and more often, technology is used to create simulations of teaching. These simulations help with training teachers and evaluating their skills. Some of these simulations even use cartoon characters to represent students. But a big question is whether these simplified cartoon students can express emotions as effectively as real faces._x000D_ _x000D_ In this study, we wanted to see if cartoon emotions on cartoon faces could be understood as well as real emotions on real people's faces. We also looked at whether showing emotions on cartoon students in teaching scenarios affects how teachers view the actions of the teacher in the simulation._x000D_ _x000D_ We found that images of emotions, even if they're cartoons, can still be interpreted with similar levels of accuracy as real emotions shown on real people's faces. Also, when we added signs of how the cartoon students were feeling in teaching scenarios, it influenced how teachers judged the teacher's actions in the story.
