What is it about?
This paper analyses how South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho hybridizes South Korean and Western cinemas - culturally, politically, and visually. The primary focus of this paper is on two of the directors earlier films Memories of Murder and The Host, it fills a gap in the research of how these two national cinemas intersect through the works of Bong.
