What is it about?

Codex Vaticanus and codex Sinaiticus are the oldest, almost complete manuscripts of the Bible. They contain the Old Testament in Greek (Septuagint) and the New Testament. While their date from around the middle of the 4th century is generally accepted, there is debate about their place of origin. While for Codex Sinaiticus the indications point to a scriptorium in Caesarea Palaestina, the origin of the Codex Vaticanus is often located in Alexandria, but also in Caesarea. The paper presents observations that point to an origin of both codices in Caesarea.
