What is it about?

This paper investigates the significance of nation, nationalism and rationality in Hegel's political philosophy. In contrast to accusations of totalitarianism or reactionary conservatism, it is argued that Hegel's theory balances between weighing national values and principles of natural right as regards the foundation of right. Hegel's 'nationalism' would then be moderate and liberal, endorsing principles of rationality and the modern idea of political freedom.
