What is it about?

This article considers how the United States sustained joint military operations in China during the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. In particular, it considers the American military expedition by assessing logistics: the movement of military supplies along transportation networks; and supply: the materiel and subsistence necessary for sustaining military operations that is distributed in the theater of conflict. The article concludes that the China Relief Expedition was a pivotal moment for the American profession of arms and one that pointed to a new century of American dominance in global sustainment.
