What is it about?

What is inside the stems of charismatic Wisteria vines? Here we take a detailed look at the structure and anatomical characteristics of the wood and bark of the genus Wisteria. This study explores whether wood and bark characters can help sort the different species within the genus. Although Wisteria species have a disjunct distribution, between North America and Asia, a number of features have remained constant. Some of them abide to the lianescent vascular syndrome, while other features are useful to sort species within the genus.
