What is it about?
ACC deaminase-producing methylotrophic bacteria can effectively mitigate drought stress in groundnut. These beneficial microbes significantly reduce electrolyte leakage and enhance leaf relative water content, thereby improving plant water status under stress conditions. Additionally, methylotrophic bacteria lower ethylene emission by degrading its precursor ACC (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid) and downregulate the expression of genes encoding ACC oxidase, a key enzyme in ethylene biosynthesis.
