What is it about?

The whole world is fighting against COVID-19 and it seems to vanish either with precautionary measures or with the formulation of drugs. The main challenge is to design a coast effective vaccine or drug. Our work has directed a step towards the same challenge. The work aims to provide coast effective drugs with effective results. Use of phytochemicals are in long use against many infectious diseases. This work has analysed that Terminalia chebula is rich in phytochemicals which are effective against many virus diseases like influenza and HIV. On docking study it was analysed that this can be even effective against the COVID-19. This will be proved very effective and cheaper form of drug. In silico study reflected that it is quite effective against spike protein and other regulatory protein of COVID-19. The major advantage of using Terminalia chebula as a potent drug against COVID-19 is that it is also a immunoregulator and has been in use since centuries.

Why is it important?

The time when whole world is fighting with pandemic, the research article has provided the phytochemical as a drug component for the treatment of COVID-19. Pentagalloylglucose is an active component present in Terminalia chebula which can be used against SARS-CoV-2 entry to host cell.

Perspectives

This article is as per the current requirement to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The phytochemical is always been preferred which shows promising result with least or no side effect.
