What is it about?
In this paper I discuss how Jewish Neo-Aramaic dialects changed under the influence of Iranian and Turkic languages. I show that the Jewish dialects of Neo-Aramaic were more influenced by these contact-languages than the Christian dialects in the same region. I also show that a study of such contact-induced changes can cast light on the earlier migration histories of the speakers of the dialects.
