What is it about?
This article describes the theories of dreaming and dream interpretation developed in four manuscripts by Shaykh Dan Tafa, a Muslim scholar from 19th-century West Africa. Dreams were a very important part of his intellectual and spiritual life and his account of how dreams occur and what they can mean tells us a great deal about how he and others in his society and intellectual tradition understood psychology, cosmology, epistemology, and metaphysics.
