What is it about?

In this article, I argue that Bai Chongxi successfully leveraged his various positions in the National Revolutionary Army (NRA) to advance the aims of Chinese Muslims during the War of Resistance. Through his participation in the first national association for Chinese Muslims, which he helped to establish in Wuhan in 1938, Bai helped to bring the concerns of Muslims in China to the national stage.
