What is it about?
The article analyzes the increasing tension between equality in legal discourse and the moral argument of religious communities concerning same-sex relationships. Debate within the Anglican Church in New Zealand, Aotearoa, and Polynesia is used as an example. Drawing from this, the article argues scepticism over rights language has shaped the debate and precipitated tension. It looks at the rights sceptic argument and arguments raised in response.
