A collection of Laphriinae collected by Volkert van der Goot and Jan Lucassen in 1971 in Japan and deposited in the collection of Naturalis Biodiversity Centre, Leiden is described below including two new species; Choerades hirsuta spec. nov. and C. obscura spec. nov.
