Mut‘a as Practised by Danish Shi‘i Women

What is it about?

This paper demonstrates how contextual influences change religious practices and norms while being articulated as divine intentions. Ten interviews with Shi'i women show how muta (temporary marriage) becomes a phenomenon that serves as a way to combine the religious expectations to the social and living world and the contextual dating norms.
