What is it about?

In sociolinguistics it is generally accepted that language change always takes place beyond the limits of speakers' consciousness. In this article I state that the study of language change is heavily dependent on more or less conscious comments of language (by speakers). I claim (and demonstrate) that talking about your language can change your language, or at least can show that you are aware of changes in language.
