What is it about?
Christianity in Mongolia has grown rapidly through three distinct periods, assisted by political upheaval, international allure, youthful enthusiasm, mass media, contextualisation, unity, community engagement and a strong sense of identity.

Why is it important?
Christianity has a long history in Mongolia but when socialism crumbled, in 1990, there were no more than 20 Christians in the whole nation. Today, there are up to 100,000. However, little research has been conducted regarding this rapid church growth movement.
Perspectives
The rapid growth and establishment of Protestant evangelical Christianity in Mongolia is one of the most significant success stories in contemporary religious history, yet little research has been done in this area. The key role of Pentecostalism in Mongolia is particularly important and I believe this needs to be explored further.
