What is it about?

Resilience among trans and gender diverse individuals can mitigate the effects of societal marginalization. We analyze the role of religion and spirituality in perceived resilience, social support, purpose in life, discrimination, and self-efficacy. This mixed methods study includes surveys (N=108) and photo-elicitation interviews among 21 individuals, with follow-up interviews conducted six months after the initial interview (N=35 interviews). We find evidence of resilience fostered through religion and spirituality and participants utilizing resilience to navigate religion and spirituality.
