What is it about?

In conflict, the bodies of the dead can provide a great deal of information through biometric data. Often this is seen only as useful for military operations and identification. This article discusses the international legal obligations to identify the dead and use biometric methods, and explains how such data can also provide insight into the human dimension of conflict, such as the food and health situation of people experiencing armed strife.
