This article is a study of the relation between progressive aspect and syntactic structures in Tunisian Arabic.

Why is it important?
Prepositional objects are not unique to Tunisian although Tunisian appears to be the only Arabic varieties in which the type of constructions described in the article became an essential and obligatory element of the aspectual system. This article is the first addressing the issue in the framework of Generative Grammar.
