What is it about?
This paper uses public opinion data from Palestine to understand what kinds of people support violent strategies over non-violent ones to resist the Israeli occupation. Findings show that individuals who are members of political parties, have more information, and enjoy higher levels of education are those who are more likely to support violent strategies.

Why is it important?
Understanding what kinds of people support violent versus non-violent strategies is important both for our understanding of motivation to political action more generally, as well as our understanding of this particular but important case. The findings of this paper help shed light on why we see armed tactics being used more regularly in the occupied Palestinian territories, and what that means for the trajectory of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
