What is it about?
Prehospital care is healthcare provided by paramedics before a patient is transported to hospital. It is quite complicated, requiring a flexible and practical way to guide how we do research in this field. Pragmatism relates to how people think, solve problems, and take action, and it matches well with how health professionals make clinical decisions in the field. By looking more closely at how pragmatism and prehospital research go together, this article suggests that pragmatism could be a useful way of looking at problems when we engage in different research methods in prehospital care studies.
