What is it about?
This essay draws out some largely unremarked aesthetic convergences between Samuel Beckett and his contemporary, the Romanian-Jewish, German-language poet Paul Celan and suggests how their common aesthetic principles can best be understood through philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy's concept of art as vestige rather than form or the sensuous representation of an idea.
