What is it about?
In his Paraphrases Erasmus uses two techniques to explain the biblical text: to explain it in its historical context (exegesis) and to apply it to the time of composition of the Bible or his own times (hermeneutics). Related to this, he plays with several narrators. Tthis inriguing play is demonstrated with regard to the paraphrase on the Gospel on Luke.
