What is it about?
This paper is concerned with the use of social media and the internet by Pentecostal Spanish Romanies/Gitanos during the COVID-19 global health crisis. More specifically, the paper engages with sociological and anthropological conversations about the online experiences of social minorities during pandemic times by investigating how Pentecostal Gitanos made use of social media platforms to disseminate Christian ideas and, ultimately, evangelise nonbelievers or reinvigorate the faith of those who already believe, within their communities and beyond. The paper also contributes to expanding a growing scholarly interest in studying the field of digital religion as well as online activities in social media by Romani communities.
