What is it about?

This article analyzes relationships between religiosity and political attitudes in Scandinavia, with data from population-wide surveys in Denmark, Norway and Sweden April 2015.

Why is it important?

These are contentious issues. Scandinavians tend to perceive religion in terms of political tensions and to feel that news media should serve a critical function towards Islam and religious conficts.

Perspectives

This article comes out of a long-term research co-operation on mediatization of religion with my Scandinavian co-authors, for this survey within the project "Engaging with Conflicts in Mediatized Religious Environments" (CoMRel), funded by the Research Council of Norway.
