Explains the metaphoric framework of infertility in Korean Medicine based on interviews with practitioners dealing with infertility in South Korea. The metaphor of 'sowing' comes into play in describing and treating involuntary childlessness, which can be traced back to medical classics from antiquity.

In this age of increasing cases of infertility, this fieldnote shows a different approach to fertility and fecundity itself, which leads to different treatment approaches in the medical setting. It could provide alternative ways to deal with infertility for those who are not sure of contemporary IVF methods.

This short report is an introduction to the Korean Medical perspective on infertility in the modern day medical setting in South Korea, where both Korean Medicine and biomedicine constitute the medical system. It shows the interplay between different perspectives, along with how the different perspective manifests in actual treatment.
