What is it about?
What role can human rights play in truth and reconciliation commissions (TRCs)? The Norwegian TRC (2018-2023) does not have human rights as parts of its mandate. This does not, however, prevent it from including human rights both in the process of mapping past injustices and when presenting the final report to the Norwegian Parliament. The article argues that better processes and better policies are outcomes of applying human rights.
