What is it about?
This article considers the role that unilateral sanctions can and should play in international law. It argues that, as currently utilised, unilateral sanctions cannot live up to their promise as being tools capable of upholding the international rule of law. It shows that equal application in their practice is essential if they are ever to live up to this promise.
