Why is it important?

Finding a way out of stalemate on the Palestine question would enhance American national interests, and the U.S., as a major power, should be able to mediate successfully in spite of obstacles posed by the primary antagonists.

Perspectives

Stalemate over Palestine is frustrating from the viewpoints of the U.S. and of the primary antagonists. The U.S. should be prepared to do more than it has to overcome this stalemate and promote sustainable coexistence between the antagonists.
