What is it about?

The article describes new churches in Britain since 1970 and shows how they are organised, what their values are, how they are to be seen in relation to more conventional churches and, while generally positive, ends with a critique.

These churches show the social and theological evolution of churches over the past 40 years and probably indicate what future churches will look like.

Perspectives

Churches in the West face challenges from a pluralist, digitalised culture and from secularism. They have adapted in a variety of ways while emphasising the work of the Holy Spirit and personal experience.
